Privacy Policy
This is an interim policy, and it is not the final one.
Pour has not launched. This policy covers only this website and the browser prototype on it. The final, complete privacy policy will be written and published when Pour is released on the Apple App Store and Google Play, because the app itself will handle accounts, saved drinks and taste data that this website does not touch. Apple and Google both require a full policy at submission, and that is when it will exist. Until then, what follows is an accurate description of the very small amount of data this site involves.
The short version
- This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking.
- Nothing loads from a third-party server. Fonts and images are served from this domain.
- The email box does not submit anywhere. It opens your own mail app with a message drafted for you. We only ever see your address if you decide to press send.
- The prototype saves your progress on your own device. It is never transmitted.
- If you did email us, we use your address for one thing: telling you Pour has launched.
1. Who is responsible
Pour is built and run by Abhishek Paatni, an individual based in India, operating as a sole developer rather than a registered company at this stage. For anything in this policy, write to thepaatni@gmail.com.
2. What this site collects
Directly, nothing. This website has no analytics, no advertising pixels, no cookies, no session storage, no fingerprinting and no embedded third-party scripts. There is no account to create and nothing to log in to.
The early access email box
When you type an address and press the button, no data is sent to us or to anyone else. Your browser opens your own email application with a message already written, addressed to thepaatni@gmail.com, containing the address you typed. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to send that message.
If you do send it, we receive an ordinary email. We hold your address in order to send you one message on the day Pour launches. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not send anything else, and we never sell, rent or share the address. Ask us to delete it at any time and we will, promptly and without asking why.
The prototype
The interactive prototype stores its state in your browser's local storage,
under the key pour-proto-v1: which screen you are on, the name
you typed, your taste answers, and anything you saved. This never leaves
your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data for this site
erases it completely.
3. What our hosts see
This site is served by Vercel, and mirrored on GitHub Pages. Like every web host, they record standard server request data such as IP address, timestamp, requested file and browser user-agent, for delivery and abuse prevention. That processing is theirs and is governed by their own policies: Vercel and GitHub. We do not have access to those logs and we do not analyse them.
Email sent to us arrives in Gmail and is therefore processed by Google under their privacy policy.
4. Legal basis and your rights
Where the UK GDPR, EU GDPR or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies to you, our basis for holding an address you emailed us is your consent, given by choosing to send that message. You can withdraw it whenever you like.
You may ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, which will be your email address and nothing else;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- stop using it.
One email to thepaatni@gmail.com is enough. There is no form and no verification hoop. We aim to act within thirty days, and in practice much sooner.
5. How long we keep it
Until Pour launches and the launch email goes out, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. After the launch email we delete the list.
6. Children
Pour is about drinks, including alcoholic ones. This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under the legal drinking age in their country. If you believe a child has emailed us, tell us and we will delete it.
7. Changes
We will update this page if anything changes, and the date at the top will change with it. The substantial rewrite will happen at app launch, as explained at the top of this page.
8. Contact
thepaatni@gmail.com. It reaches Abhishek directly.
